Gym Software Compatibility: Equipment and Package Checklist

A gym software feature list cannot tell you whether the equipment already on your desk will work with it. A printer model, connection method or gate controller can change the setup even when the advertised feature sounds identical.

For GymLiquid, equipment compatibility is reviewed during discovery. This is a preparation checklist and a summary of the published package scope, not a certified list of device models. Use it to get a specific answer before buying replacement equipment or agreeing a launch date.

What the published packages cover

Reception and printing: Basic lists the till, fiscal printer, cash desk and daily close. Advanced and Pro build on Basic. The printer connection still needs to be assessed for your equipment.

Access control: Advanced and Pro include turnstiles and access with QR codes or RFID. Access control is an individually quoted addition to Basic. Hardware is quoted separately from the software setup.

Reception card terminals: these are available on request. Confirm the terminal provider, exact device and intended workflow before assuming a connection is included.

Member booking: the member portal works in a browser and supports booking, cancellation and checking remaining visits. That does not, by itself, establish that a particular door or reader is compatible.

Check the current packages and optional services alongside the equipment assessment. Keep the chosen package, additional modules and physical devices as separate lines in the agreed scope.

Printer details to prepare

Provide the manufacturer and exact model, how the printer is connected, and the computer used at reception. Include the current software connection if you know it. A photograph of the model label can be useful; avoid sharing member or payment details in the image.

Agree a demonstration of the sale workflow on the proposed configuration. Check what the receptionist enters, what is printed and how the sale appears in the system. Discuss how staff should handle a disconnected printer or an interrupted operation without entering the sale twice.

Do not buy a replacement from a general shopping list before compatibility and responsibilities have been confirmed.

Turnstile, controller and reader details

Record the turnstile or door model, controller and reader separately. Note the connection to the reception computer or network and whether you expect to use QR codes, RFID or both. Ask the existing installer for the missing model information.

The acceptance check should include a valid membership, an expired membership and a credential the system does not recognise. Staff should understand both the access result and what to do next. Discuss any manual override with the installer and the person responsible for the site.

When comparing proposals, ask who configures the hardware, who connects the software and who attends the final test. “Access control included” leaves those responsibilities unanswered.

Keep the payment workflow explicit

Having a card terminal at reception and having a software connection to that terminal are different arrangements. Describe the process you expect: what staff enter in the gym software, what they enter on the terminal and how they compare the resulting records.

For the on-request connection, supply the provider and device details. Agree how staff handle a declined transaction and a retry, and which record confirms the outcome. These are questions for the setup review, not claims that every terminal or provider is supported.

What to ask for in the setup proposal

  1. The chosen software package and any added modules.
  2. Exact device models and the connections assessed.
  3. Existing equipment to retain and any separately quoted replacements.
  4. Who handles installation and configuration for each device.
  5. A test plan covering ordinary operations and interruptions.
  6. The training and handover arrangements for reception.

Equipment readiness and data readiness are separate. Use the migration checklist to check member records and balances before switching systems.

To discuss your configuration, request a demo with your current system name and device models. You do not need to send passwords, access credentials or member data in the enquiry. The gym software overview shows the daily workflows to review during that conversation.

Frequently asked questions

Does GymLiquid work with every printer or turnstile?

Compatibility is assessed for the actual equipment during discovery. A package including a feature does not establish compatibility with every model, controller or connection.

Which packages include access control?

Advanced and Pro include access control with compatible turnstiles and QR codes or RFID. Access control is quoted separately for Basic. Hardware is quoted separately.

Are card-terminal payments at reception included?

Card-terminal payments at reception are listed as available on request. Discuss your provider, terminal and expected workflow before treating that connection as part of the setup.
